HOW THE CLASS 4A REGIONAL TOURNAMENT WORKS
The Class 4a regional tournament features 32 teams divided into eight four-team sites. Each site uses a modified double-elimination format, giving teams an opportunity to recover from an opening-round loss.
The top two finishers at each regional site advance to the 16-team state tournament. The eight regional champions will be seeded No. 1 through No. 8, while the eight second-place finishers will be seeded No. 9 through No. 16.
Once the state field is set, the 16 teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament, where one loss ends a team’s championship run.
For Pueblo’s four qualifiers, the objective is simple: win two games at regionals to keep the season alive and earn a chance to compete for a state championship.
