Pueblo Central @ Discovery Canyon

(Thursday 6 PM, District 20 Stadium)

• The Cats will come off an early bye week to take on an 0-2 Discovery Canyon.  Central had a quick start in week 0, and will look to put together a full four quarters this Thursday night.  While Discovery Canyon is usually a playoff team year in and year out, they have struggled to start the year, getting shut out in two blowout losses. 

Pueblo County @ Thompson Valley

(Thursday 6:30 PM, TV High School)

• Pueblo County looks to keep the momentum going after winning their opener 42-7 last week.  Even though they are 0-1, Thompson Valley battled with a 5A opponent in Rocky Mountain to open their season.  This should be one of the premier 3A matchups of the weekend, and is a big opportunity for County to make a statement to the rest of the state.

Pueblo East @ Lewis Palmer

(Friday 7 PM, Don Breese Stadium)

• The Eagles enter game 2 of their 3 game road stretch against a new league opponent in Lewis Palmer.  LP enters 0-2, with losses to Air Academy and a ranked Palisade squad.  East is coming off a 23-15 win at Resurrection Christian.  This is a game that might impact league standing more than people realize by the end of the season.

Liberty @ Pueblo South

(Friday 7 PM, Dutch Clark Stadium)

• After coming off a tough loss @ Evergreen last week, getting back to the friendly confines of Dutch Clark might just be what the Colts need.  They will take on 0-2 Liberty, who has lost to Gateway and Vista Ridge to begin their season.  This is another league matchup in the new format, so the Colts will look to get back on track quickly.

Pueblo Centennial @ Florence

(Friday 7 PM, Florence High School)

• The road trend continues for Pueblo teams, as the Dogs head west to take on Florence.  Both teams enter winless, and will be hungry to get their first victory of the season.  A win here would go along way for the Bulldogs, as the Bell Game looms large the following week.

Pueblo West @ Roosevelt

(Friday 7 PM, Roosevelt High School)

• Pueblo West had the week off after a big win over Discovery Canyon in week 0, so they should be fresh for this 4A matchup with Roosevelt.  The Roughriders had a tough loss against 3A ranked Mead in their only game of the season, losing a late lead in the 4th.  Look for the Cyclones to be road warriors again and rely on a physical run game with tough defense.
