Week 7 Football Previews

Week 7 Football Previews is sponsored by: "Watts Property Group"

Sierra @ Pueblo Centennial (Friday 7pm, Dutch Clark Stadium)
Centennial will return to the friendly confines of Dutch Clark Stadium to take on the Sierra Stallions (4-1, 3-0). Centennial will look to bounce back from two straight road losses in league play.
Senior WR Brayden Donisthorpe is coming off a good game against Harrison last week, where he reeled in 9 catches for 75 yards.
Look for Cecinho Augustin and Augustine Sena to lead the QB room and try to get the Bulldogs back in the win column.
Canon City @ Pueblo County (Friday 7pm, County High School)
Pueblo County (6-0, 4-0) has rolled through league play thus far, with no opponent staying within 40 points. The Canon City Tigers (3-3, 2-2) are next on the list, and former County Coach, Monte Pinkerton, will do his best to keep the game close.
County’s biggest problem right now might be deciding who to give the ball to. Three of their four leading rushers average over 10.6 yards per carry, with the 4th rusher (Santana Baca) leading them in total rushing with 692 yards and 8 touchdowns.
This is a tricky spot for the Hornets, as the Cannon winning Eagles await next week, in which appears to be the de-facto league championship game. Even with a look ahead, expect the Hornets to keep it rolling against the Tigers.
Pueblo South @ Falcon (Friday 7pm, Falcon High School)
Pueblo South (4-3, 3-2) will look to bounce back from their Cannon Game loss against the struggling Falcon Falcons (0-7, 0-5).
This is a good get right spot for South, and they have responded from every loss this season with a win the following week.
Look for them to continue to fine tune their passing offense led by JR MJ Molina, while establishing a ground game with JR Julio Araujo.
Pueblo West @ Doherty (Friday 7pm, Gerry Berry Stadium)
Pueblo West (4-2, 2-0) has two huge games coming up soon, but this is not one of them. They are one of three teams undefeated in league play (Cheyenne Mountain, Mesa Ridge). Before facing those two, they will need to travel up I-25 and take care of business against Doherty (0-6, 0-3)
In the win against Durango last week, RB Maddox Guerrero led the way with 119 rushing yards and a score. Senior TE Cale Mapes also brought in a 46 yard receiving touchdown.
Pueblo Central @ Lewis-Palmer (Friday 7pm, Don Breese Stadium)
While East and County have separated themselves from the rest of the league, there is a cluster of teams looking to catch up to South for 3rd in the South Central League.
This game will go a long way for league standings, as Central (3-3, 2-2) and LP (2-4, 2-2) are tied with Canon City for 4th.
Expect a heavy dose of the run game on both sides Friday night. Sophomore RB Dontez Maes has been running well lately for the Cats, and will look to build up on his big game against Liberty.
Defensively, Camden Monlux looks fully healthy, as he took back an interception for a touchdown last week.
Bye Week: Pueblo East
